The spinship, a rotating torus in earth orbit, is essential for processing asteroid ore, serving as a fuel depot for ships commuting to watch stations in lunar orbit.

On the spinship is a habitat that develops and launchs updated mining ships headed for Apollo asteroids that travel in and through earth orbit. Why develop new mining ships on earth? No use paying for launch after launch to test improved versions of an autonomous mining vessel. Ease of operation is the key to sending out waves of newly hatched vehicles. Such ease can only be found by being in the element. Space is the best place to develop space assets.
